Monday Catch Up

Published March 21, 2016 by shellirosewarne

Hi all,

wolf coupleWell, Monday rolls round again, hope you’re all having a good start to the week. The last one has been quite busy here – as some of you know had to take kitty in to the vets on Thursday for her little vampire tooth that was sticking out. They decided to keep her in there and then to take it out – so had a rather stressful few hours of worrying plus a lot of running back and forth. Thankfully all was fine, and once she’d got over her wobbling all over the house like a wee drunkard she’s looking much better and scoffing her food down 🙂 Our furbabies do keep us on our toes, right? On a related note, thank God for PDSA. If you don’t know, they are a wonderful charity who run vet clinics for people on low-incomes to provide their animals with vet care. With all the health problems kitty has had over the past year, if she’d still been at a regular vet I would be bankrupt by now! If anyone feels the need to donate somewhere, they are a very worthy cause.

Writing-wise, have finally finished my wolves book 2! 🙂 It’s both a wonderful feeling to have finished and at the same time a little sad having to say goodbye to your characters. Still, I have a feeling they will be popping up in some other people’s stories so not a total goodbye really. So, have been having a few days break, catching up on some tv shows etc (anyone else watching Gotham – how good is it right now??). I’m also starting a new story for a submission call. I know, I know, I have so many half-finished ones already, but this was just too tempting. It’s been lots of fun to write so far, which is nice to have something light with a bit of comedy after having a bit of an intense ending on the last book. So far, we have a witch allergic to magic, a vegan vampire under a curse and a werewolf veggie cooking group 🙂

Anyway, better get back to it! Take care x

Tuesday Teaser

Published January 12, 2016 by shellirosewarne

Hi all,

Hope you’re all having a good start to the week! I’m slightly sulking that my coffee/scrummy food club is off tonight, but hey, it means I can catch up on some work at least. Since it’s Tuesday, I have a Tuesday teaser for you. This is from my current WIP, so please excuse any mistakes as it obvious hasn’t gone into editing yet. Hope you enjoy 🙂

pair of wolves“I’m sorry if I woke you,” he said gruffly.

Those bright hazel eyes shot to his. “I was up anyway. I heard howling, it’s weird, I didn’t know there’d be wolves this close to where people lived.”

A wry smile touched his lips, she had no idea. “Did it frighten you?”

Her brow scrunched. “Not frighten exactly. I’ve never seen wolves in the wild before.”

He grinned at her now. “Would you like to?”

She took a step closer. “What are you talking about? How could we do that?”

He liked the way she said ‘we’. He liked too much about her right now. The cute way her nose wrinkled when she was confused, her scent creeping around every corner of his room, the hint of curves under the ridiculous flannel. A low growl bubbled up, his wolf apparently liked her too. Her eyes widened.

“Did you just growl at me?” An incredulous note was in her voice.

“Why aren’t you running away, Katya?”

She blinked at him. “Should I be?”

If he had any sense left himself, he would be pushing her away, but the animal side was riding him right now and he found himself reaching out for her hand, dragging her closer until she was stood between his legs, looking down at him.

Her eyes searched his, a crease of confusion between her brows. “It’s weird, but it almost looks like your eyes are glowing. It must be the light in here, right?”

He didn’t answer her, one hand going up to cup the nape of her neck, dragging her mouth down to his. She gave a surprised squeak and then his lips covered hers.

Shit, it was more than he’d ever thought. Desire slammed into him, instantly hardening his body. His senses were pricked, making him keenly aware of every detail. The rough feel of the flannel and under it the warm and softness of her. The silk of her hair under his fingers. But most of all, her mouth. It was all heat and warmth and pure magic.

And if you’re wanting to catch up with my wolves in the meantime, book one, Scarlett Legacy is out now.
